OCT 13 - HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI

Left Huntsville this morning and was glad to leave the mud behind. We cut diagonally across northern Alabama, passing Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Mississippi is much flater and is not one of the prettier states, but it has definitely warmed up - 75F and very muggy. We stopped at a Cracker Barrel Country Store and Restaurant as we have seen signs for them all over. Definitely southern-style cooking but I think we will pass next time. Tomorrow we have only 100 miles to drive to New Orleans and hope that Barry's cold improves.
