We took the Fundy coastal drive down to Cape Enrage and along the scenic route past quaint little towns and sea views of the Bay of Fundy which ushers in the highest tides in the world.
This is the historic lighthouse station at Cape Enrage that has been in operation since the 1840's and is considered the oldest working lighthouse in the province. You can see the foghorns situated in front and a sign warns they may go off at any moment - luckily we had no fog and a beautiful view of the Bay of Fundy.

We walked down many stairs to get to the bottom of the rugged, towering cliffs of Cape Enrage.
Continued to Alma, a cute little town where we were told to check out Kelly's Bake Shop "Home of the Sticky Bun"; indeed they have excellent sticky buns and Mike say's they tasted like the ones I make and must have stolen the receipe. Walked over to their wharf and most of the lobster trawlers were in as the summer season was ended and would not open again until Oct. 14.
Arrived at Hopewell Cape, home of the Hopewell Rocks which have been sculpted by centuries of ocean tides that rise and fall the height of a 4 storey building twice daily. The tide was out and we were able to walk on the ocean floor. The beauty was breath-taking and it also reminded me of Arches National Park where there are similar rock sculptures in the desert.
This is the effect after 100 billion tonnes of rising water has carved the rugged coastline of Bay of Fundy over centuries.

On the way back we stopped at "The Bird Garden" operated by a very knowledgeable man who offered Mike tips on building birdhouses, one of his favorite pastimes.
